Colleen was up bright and early this morning annoucing The Saratoga Baby & Toddler Expo this Saturday at the Saratoga Independent School. There will be over 40 vendors and wonderful seminars throughout the day. To Love a Child will be the beneficiary of the event and will be doing a presentation at 12:30. Stop on by! For more information go to Saratogamama.com. We really enjoyed making a presentation to the 5th graders at Shatekon Elementary School. Thanks to all the teachers for allowing us time with the kids and for Donna LeBeau for setting this up. They did it! The container has been purchased and is on the RPI campus. The students are now designing all the elements to make this container a home for 12 orphans at the Orphanage of Good Will! Thank you! We so appreciate the opportunity to tell the stories from our last mission trip with your parishoners. Thank you for your interest and all the wonderful questions. We attended a lovely fundraising event at the Century House on Saturday evening put on by RPI's Engineers for a Sustainable World. It was wonderful to see a presentation on their projects in Peru, Mexico and Haiti--the later being the shipping container which will soon become sleeping quarters for the orphans in Haiti. Way to go ESW! The people of Rantlamouaie, Haiti are so appreciative of your friendship, generosity and dedication. In the photo below the board of directors holds two hand-carved wooden pieces of artwork given to our team in February. The wooden heart simply states "Thank You Very Much" and we were told the eagle was made for us beacuse it is our nation's symbol. It also symbolizes their prays that we will continue to spread our wings and help they soar into the future. Missing from the photo are board members Matt Adeleke, Tim Schmehl, and Rob Reid. I'd like to thank St. Paul's for inviting me to their lenten supper and giving me the opportunity to meet many of their parishoners. The soups were delicous and the homemade bread devine! Thank you for your interest in our work and we look forward to working with you in the future. |
