Health is everything....

Picture
HAITI:  Our first aide clinic in Haiti is a busy place.  With our constant support of medicine and supplies the clinic treats patients of every age.  Patients come to the clinic for vitamins, medicine, crutches, treatment, tender loving care and referrals to more advanced care facilities.   From the distribution of eye glasses to the funding of surgery everything we do is needed and appreciated.  We also supply the orphanage in Haiti with vitamins, medicine and other medical supplies.

ZIMBABWE:  Mission trips are so important because it allows us to see to the medical needs of the communities we serve.  2015 brings a mission trip with a full schedule of clinics as well as distributions of soap, diapers, eyeglasses, salt, sugar, personal hygiene supplies and more.

EDUCATION:  We take health care into the classroom at every location.  To date, we have conducted extensive seminars on dental health, hand washing, personal hygiene, first-aide  and  anatomy.

We are always looking for medical professionals to travel with us; doctors, nurses, dentist, EMT's....we need you all!

Please contact directoratTLC@aol.com for more information.  We are always in need of medicine and medical supply donations too!

Why Did We Build the First-Aide Clinic and Patient Ward in Rantlamouaie, Haiti?

Picture
The plan for a patient ward.
It's simple.....there were so many people without access to medicine or medical care.

We took our concern to RPI-Engineers for a Sustainable World and they quickly became our partner to help provide for those in need of medical care.

In August of 2012 a first-aide center was established in Rantlamouaie.  A steel shipping container was transformed into a patient ward and a cement block building was constructed for an office and exam area.

It all started in the parking lot of the RPI Campus.

Insulation was sprayed, plywood was put up and holes were cut for windows and vents.

With the initial work completed the container was shipped to Haiti. It was filled with valuable supplies for the clinic as well as cribs, baby equipment, food, and medical supplies.

The container was transported by truck to the school yard in Rantlamouaie. From there it took many hands to move the container approximately 300 ft. to its foundation.

David prepared the window frames for installation.

Dylan Martinez installed the light above the front entrance.

Andrew cut out the windows. It took 3 hours to cut out each window.

Professor Jensen and Maggie worked together to install the wheelchair ramp to the patient ward.

Nurse, Janet, proudly stands in the completed patient ward. Beds came complete with pillows, sheets, and blankets.

The building is divided by privacy curtains. Half the room is for examination.

The other half of the room is office and storage space.
