Through the generosity of a team mate and her friends funds were raised to send this girl to the doctor. The results were very positive and brought a wonderful smile to the face of a beautiful young lady. What a difference caring individuals and a few dollars makes! Thank you.

Thank you Soroptimist International of Saratoga County for helping us to fund this new classroom. This space will primarily function as a learning center focused on nutrition. Students will learn how to wash, prepare and cook food using vegetables from the school garden and herbs from the new herb garden.
Seven women were introduced to solar cooking while we were in Haiti. Over the weeks and months ahead the women will experiment with the new solar oven to cook such things as rice, beans, vegetables, meat and bread. Eventually, they will teach the students how to use the ovens. We hope to bring more solar units to our little village so we can help the environment by not cutting down trees to use for fuel. Haiti suffers from major deforestation.
The rain fell hard and the rain fell softly....but, each day the warm rays of sun managed to shine through too. We will be sharing beautiful stories from this trip in the days ahead. Hope you will find a few minutes to follow us on Facebook and our web-site!
Our small but mighty team of 3 is heading to Haiti at 3:00 a.m.! Michael Jensen, Lois Jensen and myself are anxious to begin work on the interior of the kitchen classroom as well as the herb garden. We will be delivering a solar oven which we can't wait to try out! Thank you SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF SARATOGA COUNTY FOR YOUR SUPPORT in this wonderful endeavor!
We are always in need of eyeglasses for men, women and children in Haiti and Zimbabwe. If you have an old pair please consider donating them to us. It makes a world of difference to someone who can't afford to buy eyeglasses. Magnifying reading glasses and sunglasses also needed. Send to To Love a Child, Inc. PO Box 165, Clifton Park, NY 12065 Old glasses like these can be replaced by newer ones with your help.
In October 2014, we were thrilled to bring clean water and hand wash stations to a remote village in Haiti. This was made possible by the collaboration and generosity of local companies Aztech Technologies and SEED. Please consider becoming a sponsor for this year's annual dinner and your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar so we can do more priority projects in Haiti and Zimbabwe. Click here to review the sponsorship opportunities!
