Eco-Quest
We are proud to put the health of our planet at the heart of our programs so that future generations can enjoy its beauty and bounty for decades to come through our
Eco-Quest Program.
Eco-Quest Program.
The Chari-tree (Charity tree) Project!
This projects has multi-faceted goals:
□ To plant more trees in our community,
□ To plant apple trees from which 100% of the yield is donated to families in need,
□ To inspire our youth to eat healthier by including more fresh fruit in their daily diet,
□ To provide apples to families who are food insecure.
□To teach our youth to understand:
-the importance of planting trees; for erosion control, for wildlife habitat, for the production
of oxygen that we need to breathe, and to make our planet a more beautiful place in which
to live.
- the farm-to-table process through apple farming.
Our mentor for this program is Kevin Bowman of Bowman Orchards.
2022 Tree Plantings:
10 trees at Bowman Orchards adopted by Girl Scout Troop #2226
2 trees at Cheryl's Lodge Outreach Center
4 trees at St. Luke's on the Hill in Mechanicville
Together we will watch over and maintain the trees so in three years the students will be able to pick the apples and personally deliver the apples to families in Saratoga County.
