We call them the forgotten people....

On a recent trip to Haiti I was asked to visit a site where 30 families live in Port au Prince.  These families lost their home and possessions nearly 10 years ago in the devastating earthquake.  Since that time they live in a very small area surrounded on three sides by the cinder block walls of three large buildings.  The houses are approximately 10 x 20 and contain only a minimum of items.  The houses are divided only by canvas, pieces of wood, tin or whatever else they can find.  Running water comes from a hose run from a clinic next door.  There is no bathroom or private shower space.

We are now including these people in our Caring Hearts program by supplying them with rice each month.  We will be looking to see what else we can do to help.
