Meet our TLC Ironman Competitors...
Virginia Touhey, TLC Board Member
Committing myself to finishing the Lake Placid Ironman is a feat in itself.
I quickly realized though that it was all about me.
Creating Team – Racing To Love A Child was a way for me to make it more meaningful.
Imagine one of the snacks I eat during the triathlon could be the equivalent of a whole days food for a child in Zimbabwe or Haiti.
I have been to Zimbabwe and seen this for myself.
Please join us by contributing on line.
Thank-you from the bottom of my sore feet and the bottom of their empty cups.

Why I am racing for Team To Love a Child:
I are racing Ironman Lake Placid on July 24th to help raise funds to support a wonderful cause; To Love a Child. TLC is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children all around the world by improving lives and creating opportunity to thrive. I am fortunate to be able to enjoy the sport of triathlon. It's truly an honor and privilege to be able to do a race like this which requires so much time, money and resources. I would like to transfer some of this good fortune to children who have minimal to no resources, and struggle with life's very basic necessities.
I started a Facebook Cause for TLC. Feel free to join it!

To Love a Child is an amazing organization dedicated to providing opportunities for children in Haiti, Uganda, Zimbabwe and here in the USA. It is humbling to realize how much I have and how little innocent children have. I will consume more calories during the Ironman Triathlon than some kids are able to eat in an entire week or more. As a father, it is heartbreaking to see children my own child's age struggling. I am racing to raise awareness to this situation and to raise money to help.
Please join us and give generously.
