We are anticipating an exciting return to our journeys to Zimbabwe beginning in 2022. Our target is March or April and we want YOU to come along for the ride! We will continue to post updates on our projects, however, we will also post a few tales from the safaris we always end our trips with. These safaris are a wonderful experience, educational and a photographer's dream come true. In the words of Wilderness Safari's, the safari company we always use for our adventures, "Simply put, we are dedicated to conserving and restoring Africa’s wilderness and wildlife, and we use high-end ecotourism to do this. Our model is responsible and sustainable, changes people’s perspectives on the planet, and inspires those exposed to it to effect positive change in their own lives and own spheres of influence." Enjoy just a few photos from our 2018 safari experience and if you are interested in our 2022 trip to Zimbabwe please contact us. [email protected]

We are thankful this Earth Day for the surprise gift of 10 hectares of land in Mberengwa, Zimbabwe from the village heads for our school project. Although Tropical Cyclone Eloise paused our building projects temporarily in March it also produced much needed rains for crops.
The land gifted to us had been fallow for over 20 years. Needless to say, Project Manager Muno had many helpful hands from the village to clear the land of trees and shrubs in order to make the land conducive for planting crops. 8 hectares were cleared and 2 hectares were left for livestock grazing and breeding. The photos above show the maize and sugar beans that were planted on 3 1/2 hectares. Although our crop may be small this year we look forward to the next planting season so that the entire plot of land can be planted and harvested. |
