We look forward to working with the folks from Libros Para Los Ninos in Haiti at the Orphanage for the Aide of Unfortunate Children. The group works in the Dominican Republic to provide the best possible education and educational tools for children in the poorest areas of the DR. Two members of the group will meet us in Haiti in November to begin helping the children at the orphanage with their educational needs. Thank you Libros Para Los Ninos!

We are thrilled to have Cris Schrader join our Board of Directors! Cris is the president and owner of Sustainable Engineering & Environmental Design, LLC (SEED) based in Albany, NY. Seed Engineering is a civil and environmental engineering firm that provides sustainable design solutions ranging from green building design, environmental consulting, environmental engineering and energy efficiency services. Seed Solar is a renewable energy installation company focused primarily on solar electric, solar hot water, geothermal and wind.
Cris has traveled to Haiti with us on several occasions consistently applying his engineering expertise to successfully install and maintain solar panels, inverters, and a variety of other equipment. Most importantly he designed and constructed hand-wash stations which help to combat the spread of disease in Rantlamouaie. Congratulations Cris! A story aired on Channel 10 news tonight which gave To Love a Child credit for a fundraiser taking place at The Recovery Sports Grill in Troy, NY. Please note that the event was a fundraiser for St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy and their 25+ year partnership with the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lascahobas. Their dedication to their brothers and sisters in Haiti is an inspiration!
We are so thankful that the children and caretakers in our orphanage are safe. There is flooding and damage but no injuries.
We have forwarded emergency funds for food and clean water, however, much more needs to be done. Any donations toward their recovery would be greatly appreciated. The gallery below shows photos from southern Haiti where the damage is extensive. The 4th photo shows the flooding in the classroom at the orphanage. It's Rodger Wyland from NewsChannel 13! We are thrilled to have Rodger as MC for our 8th annual dinner and awards ceremony on November 3rd. Invitations will be in the mail this week so mark your calendars.....and also, Happy Birthday Rodger!
